Funky Flash Driven Interface. Technically impressive, these automated logo makers allow you to move various bits and pieces around the screen before buying what is still arguably a piece of clip-art for your logo. One site actually goes as far to announce that with their service "no designer is needed". We'd agree. No designer is needed because no design is taking place. At Logos in a Box it's not possible to feature our custom services with one of these interfaces - so we didn't. Have to give them this one.

Clip Art Logos. Clip Art is not defined by how it looks, or how it's delivered. Clip Art is defined by what it is - namely ubiquitous icons designed to be used by an infinite number of people, in as many applications as possible. So, regardless of what they claim, most do-it-yourself logo generation sites sell clip art as logos. At Logos in a Box, even our discount limited logos are available for a limited number of purchases. And we state categorically on our site - no clip art!

Exclusivity Available. Well, IF a DIY logo site is selling clip art, then there's no possible way for them to offer ANY type of exclusivity. And to their credit, most don't even try (though there are some that do), simply stating that "the rights for the icon itself are retained as they will remain in the database for possible further use". As in forever. We like to things a little differently, offering limited licenses with our discount logos, and exclusive licenses with our Pro logos. You choose the level of exclusivity by the type of logo purchase you make.

Working with a Real Designer. At Logos in a Box, any logo customization is not performed by a flash driven automated system (see above), but an experienced logo designer who's worked on hundreds of corporate identity projects. You're welcome to pick their brains for design suggestions and help. It's also why we like to describe our service with the tag line 'Your Logo - Hand Built'.

Required File Formats. For effective brand management, you'll need access to a variety of different file formats - some web, some print - that insure headache free marketing and advertising efforts. Like Logos in a Box, some sites DO feature the required formats, while others do not. Trouble is, it's sometimes hard to tell. At our site, ALL our designs offered feature the formats you'll need.

Pricing. Some of the DIY design sites feature logos as low as $49. Others charge $99. At Logos in a Box, our limited logos start at $75 (for the truly budget conscious our Icons start at $45).
