What files do I get?
When we have completed your new Logo in a Box design, you will be supplied with a variety of file formats, each with their particular use or application. What follows is a brief overview of your new file formats supplied with your LIAB purchase.
Vector Formats:
.ai, eps. The most important of all your formats are the Vector based files delivered as .EPS and .AI formats. These are the industry standard file that you will require to print your new logo. This file also becomes Vector Logo Exampleyour ‘source file’ – ALL required formats can be generated from this file and this file can be edited at a later date for an endless variety of possibilities. Vector formats are unlimited resolution and will print ‘sharp’ regardless of the image size. Editing of Vector based formats requires appropriate design software.
Bitmap Formats:
.jpg, .png. .ps. Pixel (Raster) images are utilized for electronic reproduction (ie: your website) and for import into some office software depending on the color palette used (RGB vs CMYK). Bitmap formats cannot be enlarged without the image appearing ‘fuzzy’ or out od focus, but they can be reduced without issue. As these are not as versatile as vector based images, we supply you with a full range of sizes and types that are ready to use. It should be noted Bitmap Logo Examplethat most Bitmap formatted images require four color process printing and are not appropriate for more predictable spot color printing. While bitmap images require software to edit (ie: Adobe Photoshop) they can be viewed in numerous software packages including most current web browsers.
PDF Formats:
Unlike Vector and Pixel based formats, .PDF documents do not require specialized software to view (other than the required free Acrobat Reader from Adobe – usually bundled with ALL web browsers). PDF documents can also be edited using Adobe Illustrator and other design software, and can be e-mailed to printers as a reference for any print job or design addition. PDF is quickly becoming the industry standard for artwork documents and is a versatile addition to any brand asset collection.
